Didem Kara Sarıoğlu is an Istanbul-based artist whose practice engages ecology, memory and material processes through installation-based and research-oriented approaches.

Her work investigates fragility, permeability and transformation through organic matter, spatial structures and material interventions. Rather than treating materials as passive components, she approaches them as living presences capable of generating embodied, affective and conceptual experiences. Her installations often oscillate between attraction and unease, vitality and decay, creating transitional spaces where stability and vulnerability coexist.

Working across studio experimentation and artistic research, her projects evolve through sustained observation, material proximity and conceptual reflection. She is particularly interested in how matter carries traces of life and how spatial arrangements may cultivate ecological sensitivity while exposing the tensions inherent in coexistence.

Through installation-based production, research-led inquiry and pedagogical engagement, she situates art as a reflective field where material thinking, ecological awareness and spatial perception intersect. Her practice unfolds within a dynamic exchange between making, thinking and teaching.
